mine sounds best w/ one length of inner tube under Piezo, one on top, & one more under treble side of bridge!

What sort of stand do you use to park the bass when it is not in use?

This s the only stand I use for all of my basses. The legs that support the lower bout are adjustable so you can put it on the stand without retracting the end pin. If you do play outside be careful not to sit the stan on an angle that tips it back, it will topply over. I made some extensions for mine to use it outside.
Only fault I have to that stand (I have 2 of the stands) is the bass slides forward a little and slides the rubber up and off the end.
On my way to Wal-mart!I agree but it was the only stand I could find that let me leave the end pin out the where it needed to be set.
To solve the problem of the movement I put some super glue on both ends.
