It's subjective and they both bring a lot to the table, but for my money I'd want Freddie. His musicality coupled with his vocals and lyric writing were pretty spectacular.

I would say that, for now, it is less so. Give it a week though and I'll be singing a different tune.

Recently I have a niewer appreciation for a different genre/style/feel of music. A Native American group known as Raices (sp?) and the band Enigma. I heard a song twice from them within 12 hours. I have heard them before but not really listened... So now I am on this ambient sorta, zen like music. - SO, have you had any recent inspirations, new found genres, or appreciations for another genre lately?

Right now, rockabilly/psychobilly/punkabilly music. I really like the rhythms and the overall style of music, how some of it can be very fast and aggressive, but other times it's really relaxing, but in general it's got that same simple beat to it - I like how they can get a completely different "feel" for two different songs that involve the same basic rhythm. I really want to incorporate that sense of groove into my bass playing.

Do you think that there is a difference in "validity" or "quality" in two genres of music or artists or bands, or would you say that in some sense that it is all equally valid or creative?

I would say that the validity and quality of most things, not just music, is determined by which set of standards they are being judged by. Since there appear to be innumerable sets of standards, I believe you would find just as many conclusions depending on who was being asked.
Too many people though, use the standard of, "If I like it, it's the best - if I don't then it's invalid. End of story, next subject."
Personally I do not like bluegrass, but I defend it, as it's evident on the face of it that many people derive tremendous enjoyment from it. I don't like it, but, it is valid.
