I had two perfectly good basses; One fretted, one fretless. Both are wonderful Warmoth 32" scale lightweight tone-monsters.
The P started with pearl but I changed it to tort.
I picked up a 2x2 wenge neck with blocks for the P. I just love blocks.
The fretless went from lined to unlined wenge with different pickups.
But I didn't like the looks of the P (too busy) and I prefer the P tone to the J. And I'd like something in burgundy mist. So ... more changes.
Fretless neck goes on the P.
Neck with blocks gets married to a new BMM body with pearl to highlight the blocks and to have something without tort!
Summary: Start with two perfectly good basses, spend money and time and end up with ... two perfectly good basses.
... at least the couch stayed the same
