Passive Stingray

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a switch somewhere in back that you can switch the pickup from active or passive?
I've played a SUB for years now and just never messed with the battery or anything like that, I always put the bass into the "passive" input as opposed to the "active" one on the mini stack I had at the time. I just assumed that worked, shows how much I know I guess.

The pickup is passive in a stingray bass....so if the battery dies you still get sound.... albeit lower output volume and no tonal control from the active preamp. So the easiest way to see how a stingray would sound as a passive bass, is to simply take the battery out.
For a few others ric's are passive but some have separate output jacks for the pickups, similar to the billy sheehan signature yamaha.
Last, the EB0 bass should have its name in the list of iconic sounding basses as it's pretty much the polar opposite of a stingray.
