Passive Warwick Corevette with Delano Xtenders - What do we think?

Thinking about picking up this warwick corvette german made customized with Delano Xtenders all passive. $850 cad.

Has anyone heard these pickups on a passive bass?

What do we think? Worth picking up?

I've always wanted a warwick and its hard to find them up here for below a $1000

I wouldn't be afraid of that bass, even though I haven't tried those pickups. I have always wanted to see what they would look like in a Lakland, what with the matching bridge and all.

My Sandberg Custom has Xtenders (See Avatar), they are awesome pickups.

About half the time I play them in passive mode and they offer a variety of usable tones.

They look great on that Corvette!

Not really, we recorded a recent rehearsal, but the files are too big. There are several youtube clips- search Sandberg Custom Supreme......
You could always add a preamp. (Glockenklang or Delano preferably). I would add coil tap switches, as I'd rather have
it passive with coil taps then active without coil taps. I would snatch that thing up and play the $&*! out of it.

That looks great! I would probably go for it assuming you could at least play it through an amp or a pod before forking over your cash. That really adds to the Vette's look IMO.

I think the Extender is Delano's best pickup. The videos above show how versatile and great they can sound.

That's a great bass with great pickups. They couldn't have picked a better bass model to put those in. Had it been a $$, or something more exotic in the Warwick line.... yeah, I can see a devaluation. With the standard though, as long as the pickup placement is comfortable to you, it's a win win.

I can always throw a pre amp in, and the black on red just looks to good to pass up!

I'm going to go against the grain here and say be cautious. They seem to have done something weird to the top of the fret board? And who know what the quality of the mods are and how deep they go, rerouting for pickups is a big mod.

I asked for all the changes he made and he said swapped the pickups, new keys, new straplock and he refretted it.

The nut isn't stock either. Looks like the JAN was replaced with a regular graphite? nut. It seems like a great bass for the price but I really love the MEC electronics for Warwicks.

I think it would be a little harder to sell it but seriously hurt the resale? I'm not sure what the USD conversion rates are but those standard corvettes usually sell for 650-800 ish. Personally I would have kept the adjustable nut just for easy setup

I see absolutely nothing wrong with the mod's. I would rock that thing.

The Canadian dollar is very week, about 75cents to the Canadian, plus it's just harder to find nice wicks up here, I think I'm gonna go for it. Though I do like the adjust a nut too, I like the marker mod quite a bit.
