As for George, it's probably all subjective. He was clearly involved with some tracks, and didn't play at all on others.
You are right about George. The lead guitar lines was often - if not always - done as overdubs around 1967. So it might be so, that George experienced less time spent recording Sgt. Pepper - compared to the other three... Don't know - but you are right about GH's playing on the songs mentioned - and to me he's doing an outstanding job.
