Great pick up. I got a highway 1 jazz bass from a pawn shop for 150. The guy behind the counter didn't know what I was taking about when I said "can I see the bass" in reference to the only bass they had.
I've been considering picking one of these up and dropping some Nordstrands in it, but I'm not a fan of the EMG sound at the best of times.
Congrats! Spectors are great instruments (I own 4 of them at the moment all from the USA custom shop, though I have also owned the Korean-made Legends and Czech Republic-made "Euro" and "Rebop" models). BTW, "Spector" is written on the trussrod cover.
These are great basses. If you want an absolute fire breather, drop in some emg p/j pickups (they make them in soap bar form as well) and a Darkglass Tonecapsule, and be prepared to be amazed.
I have a five string version of this that's in 35" scale, not sure if the for string version is, but it really makes the b string sound great. One of the best playing basses I own.

All the decent Fender gear around here goes straight to Craigslist or Reverb after the guy has bought it from another guy at pawnshop price.

It does play well and is in great condition. I wonder, though, if Spector even listened to this pre/pickup combo. Just harsh sounding. I'm looking forward to upgrading the electronics. If I'm still not digging it, I'll flip it.congrats on your new instrument! looks nice.

I saw it hanging in the store when it was closed. I came back the next day and camp for an hour at the door because a line forms, of which I was second. I tried not to look at the bass in case the person in front of me realizes what's on the wall and wants it because I'm licking the window. The door opens and the person in front goes to cash a check. After checking the neck for warping, the intonation, and the controls, I was sold. It was even pretty close to in tune. It got pretty good use from me but I had to pass it on to a grateful owner when I had to thin the heard. Even though it was a fun bass and it is the reason the new neck for my Precision will have a Jazz profile among other things, Jazz basses feel like a football mouthpiece off the shelf rather than a molded one. I like Jazz basses, but having owned a Fender and a Squier, I realize that don't care for the body shape. I can't find a comfortable height for the body to play standing and I'm adjusting the whole time. The controls feel far away and I need to do a lot of quick tonal changes. My P has more than one pickup, but it has a blend. I know a J could just as easily have the same layout but since the body never worked for me, I don't GAS too hard for Jazz basses.
