Pbass pickups (again)

Hi there,

I've searched a bit, but still want to hear some opinions.
I currently have Nordstrands, but with flats (which I use) I still get a feeling there are better pickups fotr the sound I want: soulfull, deep, jamerson like tone. I don't want a Pbass rock tone...

Thanks for all suggestions...

it's EASY to go from a Pbass rock tone to a vintage tone on a Nordie NP4...it's ALREADY designed to sound vintage...

if you want Jamerson...
1...make sure you have a 250k/0.1uF tone control...
2...make sure you have 250k volume pot
3...roll off the tone control sufficiently
4...pluck more up towards the neck

finally...your amp settings are critical...

boost the lows a tad...keep the mids and highs flat...

The stock pickup in my 50's P had more low mids than the NP4. The stock 50's P pickup measures at 10.5K which is the same as a 62 P.

The nice thing about the NP4 is how well is responds to the tone control. And I agree that a 0.1uF does do well with a P bass.

Okay, thanks everybody,

Can any of you tell me what a 250k/0.1uF tone control is, where i can see if I have it on my JV of how to replace it if not?
(sorry but I'm kind of new to these things)

The thing I found abot my norstrands is that the output is almost more than say a musicman, or twice as loud as my old P.
