PCB designers

Shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll share the easyEDA backup file if you want it. I did start the through hole layout last night but I only worked on it for about 5 minutes before I got distracted! Hopefully I'll have time in the next few days.

I got the schematic made ok. It's the component layout that twists my mind just like the rat nest wiring. I'll hope you find time to make the thru hole design and help me out of this misery. Don't take any stress about it anyeay.

I had a few minutes this morning. I've got it down to a handful of crossing traces. The board is about 1.5" x 2.3". This might be about as good as it gets - I'll take another look later and post what I come up with. It might be good enough as-is to do at home, single sided, and just use jumpers for the traces on the back.

One layer, no jumpers!

Let me know what sort of format you want the files in, or I can publish it on OSHPark and share it there if you're going to order from them.

Paging @Passinwind. He's extremely knowledgeable and may have some good input.

I don't do clones, but I did help a guy learn how do a through-hole layout for that preamp several years ago. Looks like @dwizum has it covered anyway though. One thing I might change is getting the small value bypass cap a little closer to the IC V+ pin, but it's probably fine as is.

Here's the pcb on OSHPark just in case anyone wants to order it:

OSH Park ~

Here is just the top copper layer as a PNG, you should be able to print it and check the scale by looking at the pitch of the pins on the op amp (should be .1"):

That did come out pretty choppy though, not sure if it'll work well. I tried it as an SVG and a PDF too, they came out more clear, but I can't figure out how to attach those here. Let me know if you want them via email.

I have some of the PCBs and parts in hand but haven't put one of these together yet. I do have a bass of my own that I plan on trying it in but it's pretty low on my list and behind enough paying work that it probably won't happen until mid or late summer. If you guys try it in the meantime let us know how it goes!

It works great. I have one on the Spirit and planning to use another on the real Steinberger.
I'm sold then. I might order a few boards from OSH Park if that's OK as I have an XL2 and 4 Woodbergers most of which have EMGs to go in them post move.

I doodled up a design last night just before bed that could also fit 3 holes but B/M/T with sweepable mids. Needs 3 stacked pots and would have to be all SMT. Too many things to do at the moment but it's in the design notebook so will be actioned eventually.
