You can get the diaphram for about $15 and swap it out easily, no soldering involved. I've done this 3 or 4 times over the years with my old Peavey cabs.

If by bad you mean the dirt and dust, yes it’s bad. The room this rig was stored in is a pit. If you just don’t like the color or looks I guess that’s a personal preference. I’ll post a pic of the rig in a bit now that I have it all cleaned up.
Ok I just ran the Peavey cab through both my GK and thd 450max. It’s not right somewhere, just a distorted sound. The woofers sound ok, not sure why it would have a strange broken up sound regardless of the power amp source. I’m gonna look inside as I can hear the sound through the cab ports so maybe something is goofy inside…
I pulled the 2 lower woofers, 1 exhibits a light scraping noise during manual movement, the other 3 are quiet. I assume one bad VC could cause a distorted sound. I don’t want to repair it at the moment so I’ll just set it aside until I can find a good deal on a replacement woofer.. The head I’m gonna flip since I know it functions perfectly..
That post above suggesting that you pull the crossover and bypass the horn seemed like a good idea. Is that a possibility?
Most stock crossovers I’ve seen seemed under built, kind of an afterthought to “keep up with the Jones’s” when every 4-10 seemed to need a horn looking thing.

I’m not sure, I removed the horn, disassembled it and the diaphragm appears new in condition. I ordered a single eminence 10in speaker since the cab didn’t really cost me anything. If the sound is still off I will rebuild the horn if I can find the diaphragm.
I’m not sure how to bypass the horn, I assume it can’t be too difficult..
