Peavey 6x10

Need some help, a guy posted this for free (my favorite price) and had a lot of offers to pick it up.. I really don't need it but I offered him $10 for the badge (to replace the broken one on my 1820) didn't care to get the cab, just wanted the badge.. The guy messaged me and offered me the whole cab. I'm picking it up tonight.
Anyway, did some Googling and searching here. There was apparently 2 - 6x10 cabs made 1 for guitar in the 70s and one for bass in the 90s. Does anybody have ANY info on this? Of course I'll know more tonight.

Looks like the guitar cab that a guy I played with in the ‘70s had. But I’m no Peavey expert.

That's a dual use/guitar 6x10 with Scorpions from the 70's. Pretty much anything with a silver stripe is late 70's/early 80's. They sound alright for bass but handle maybe 200 watts? With some decent speakers they actually sound great. Eminence Beta 10's are a solid choice.

Well, I've got a new badge for my 1820, probably some speakers and hardware. All good for $10.

Okay so, it looks like a bass cab by the porting but it's a strange arrangement. Top 2 speakers are in their own sealed chamber. Then the next 2 down vertically on the left then on the right have their own ported chambers (see pictures).

After my 2x12, 2x10 project from a Peavey 1820 cab I'm going to reload this.

Digging online I found an old 70s Peavey yearly circular that had all of their cabinets in it, it had two options for this particular cabinet but it didn't give any specifications. In the pictures that I've seen online they come with two different speakers I'm not sure what type other than the fact that one has an aluminum dust cone and the other one doesn't (mine do not) so I'm assuming that was the difference between the two cabinets. None of the others that I have seen have a horn. It is a pretty interesting cab and although it was not advertised for bass it has two tens on the top in a sealed cabinet, and vertically to tens on the left two tens on the right of the bottom 4 are in separate ported cabinets. I don't know the tuning, I don't know anything about the speakers and with the very little that I could find about the cabinet I'm guessing that the speakers are hard to track down too, but I haven't tried yet. Knowing the speakers specifications I might be able to reverse engineer the tuning up the cabinet.
Otherwise for 10 bucks it's pretty cool.

All I wanted was the Peavey Badge for my 1820. There were like 25 people ahead of me that asked for the cab that he was offering for free as long as you picked it up. I messaged him and told him I'd give him $10 for the badge and he said "you can have the whole thing for $10" and here we are.
Badges on ebay are $17 and up..

So I see it was the 6\12 that had the horn.A little fuzzy but in the right ballpark.I remember that is was pretty loud with a Peavey Musician head.That early solid state stuff was pretty hard on the ears,though.My guitarist at the time didn't keep it long.

I imagine that was more of a guitar enclosure. Kustom (from the same era) had guitar and bass versions of a few of their cabs. I have a 1968 charcoal sparkle 2x12" cab that had the original CTS speakers-which are similar to the CTS used by Peavey in your cab. Looking at the old catalogs, the CTS version was for bass, Jensen and JBL was for guitar.
Here's a speaker out of my cab: the square magnet looks a little larger relative to the cone/basket vs your 10". These speakers are really heavy, like 17 pounds each! FWIW, I replaced them with a Scorpion and a Hartke Hydrive 12" and the cab lost about 25 pounds!
