My office from last night! Eight EHX 6CA7 Tetrodes! Sterling RAY4HH that I got for free. Added a Hip shot D-Tuner to it.

I also double as the PA sound guy thus my MacBook on the side of me.

Thank you Jeff Bezos lol! Ordered on Amazon, shipped UPS, got damaged in transit as in never made it to my house was returned to shipper. Told seller wanted a replacement, so a credit was issued to my CC for the first bass that got damaged. A replacement was sent out, but CC was never charged for replacement. It's been many years I doubt they will try to recharge or even find the transaction.

Found an 1820 but it was a 3 hour drive one way for me, and found a 1520 and both of them too much of drive so I ended up with 115 4ohm cabinet that should match up with my Peavey MegaBass amp. 115 Cab was lot closer to pick it up still 80 miles one way. And it priced right. I could have got the 1820 for $125 dollars! I wanted to match the Peavey amp up with Peavey Cab. Had it hooked up a Ampeg 115T 8 ohm. Peavey Cab is 4 ohm with BW speaker which should bring out 500 watts,and the speaker Cab will go 750watts. And of course have to have the 87 Peavey Dyna Bass to make it complete!

Today was my extra day off this week so after resting up yesterday I got around to installing the pair of 15" Peavey Black Widow 1505-8 speakers I had purchased last month to replace the old worn gold label Kicker Competitions C-15 speakers that came with my 215D-BW cab. The speaker baskets were too round at the top to fit into the holes so I took a sanding drum bit and 80 grit sandpaper to slightly widen them so the speakers fit.

Doesn't Kicker make car audio speakers? Not what I would expect to find in a bass cab...

Thats a very interesting development if this is legit. The pandemic did wonders for the perceived value of old Peavey gear (nobody's getting rich but you'll make some money off Peavey amps and guitars/basses now) and Peavey should at least test the waters for a modern reissue by tapping into that nostalgia like every other company does. I know Hartley has stated in the past that he doesn't see a point in doing reissues but this looks like a good middle ground. He gets to tout the better technology and players get a vintage looking amp with modern specs.

Tell me about it. Imagine what I was also thinking when I pulled a speaker out and discovered I was playing through a 2 ohm cab with a tube amp that only goes to 2 ohms when using both speaker outputs. Thankfully I never used it loud or frequently enough to damage the amp but after that the cab was rolled into the closet until I found replacement speakers.

I've missed a few things, my apologies to everyone- esp the new kids looking to join. I've been down the river life takes a funny shape once in a while.
I've been looking at a Peavey Max 115 combo for $300, considering since my old TNT 115S has been sent the way of all foolhardiness. That gnarly, humble old box sounded great, turned out to be all I wanted to hear. Anyway the Max line, since I first heard of it, has always gotten a good buzz. Is it still true?

Okay...
We've got a mess of new peeps ducking in and participating here, anyone interested in a club number give us a shout and I'll set you up.
And I'll be looking to spend more time here, I've been getting rid of some gear and focusing back on what has left an indelible mark on my sonic journal. Peavey is one manufacturer that I've never had to spend a lot of time thinking about. It's been a simple job to dial in and get a result I've been happy with. So +1 for all you loyalists here! I stand in reproof.
Peavey kicks a$$.

I remember this combo exceeding my modest expectations when I tried it in a store five years ago, but most things sound good in stores to me. I'm afraid that's all I've got … unless you want to make a cross country road trip and snag my c. 1990 teal stripe TKO 😁

It's a thought I'm entertaining, since I'm letting my big rig stuff go, mostly. I'll probably still keep some heavier artillery though. But for the regular, routine hauling something small but still potent is going to be the idea.
