FWIW, I have a MAX 150, 12" w/ 150 watts. It's my backup, and more portable than my Amped/MB set up that I normally use. The MAX 150 is surprisingly versatile and has a lot of good features (DI out, FX loop, aux in, headphone jack, speakon connection, built in tuner). I got it for $150 used a couple of years ago, though you'd been hard pressed to find any evidence of previous use!

This is the Wednesday Warrior, a Peavey TNT combo in the rehearsal room. The thing is growing on me.

I use the poweramp section of this 160W Peavey Solo Special guitar combo amp, using the Effects Loop Return jack socket, with the internal 12" speaker disconnected, and instead hooked up to a FRFR PA speaker (15" woofer/mids driver/1.7" high frequency/high mids tweeter, with a crossover at 2.3Khz), for my amp-less setup:

I also own a Peavey XR-600 400B PA amp, but that one is not in working order, it needs at minimum the pots cleaned, but I suspect some of them requires replacement.

I have considered having it repaired, but not sure if it is worth it.

I mean it sounds amazing, but it also weight about a 100 Ton.

I would love a Peavey Mark [whatever] Bass Amp.

There are 4 and 2 ohm taps, I didn't know if it's a good idea to plug into an 8 ohm or not... Anyone have experience with these?

OOOoooooo high energy! So much better than those LOW energy tube amps...

Peavey was all about being reliable at the time. They designed their amps around being loosely hooked up to cabs. I'm positive (with my experience) that hooking up an 8 ohm cab to the 4 ohm jack would be just fine.

Played it yesterday at an afternoon gig. Gotta get used to it and dialed in, but my Epi Classic Pro Thunderbird went into it and was served up a healthy dose of solid, rumbling punch and hefty low mids. Felt really good coming out of the Hartke 410, an 8 ohm cab.
I'll have to spend some time with it, and yeah the headroom will be limited for the heavier stoner doom jam band. But it seems! like a pretty good little club amp so far.
