1972, assuming things are original, may have the old square magnet speakers they used before Black Widows. They do have a nice tone, but can't handle near the power of a Widow. They're somewhere 100-150 watt speakers that'll fart out with maybe 1/3 of that power coming from a bass guitar. Kind of an all purpose rather than bass specific speaker.

Again, pretty nice tone but fairly limited when used with amps of more than a couple hundred watts.

You can buy a speaker that will sound better weigh less and get louder for about the same money.

BTW as I recall these are 2 ohm cabs so be real careful what you plug into it.

Every Peavey 215 I've ever seen is a 4 ohm cab (two 8ohm speakers in parallel), but, never hurts to check with something that old. Speakers could've been replaced more than once over the years.

I've got one. Someone gave it to me. The original square magnet speakers actually do a pretty good job. I did run it with the stock speakers, then a pair of Black Widows. I gigged with the BW's and a GK1001RB (I added a Foster/Fostex horn, wired to use the biamp feature in the GK.) Nice, but it's a heavy cabinet and I switched to two smaller cabinets instead. But for a 2X15, it's a great cabinet.

With a B25B, I think the old square mag. speakers (they were contracted from eminence back when they were just doing wholesale contracts with companies), would sound really nice, and handle the amp pretty nice. With that particular amp, I'd almost rather have the square mags. than the widows. :ninja:
