Peavey Foundation truss rod access issue

Unfortunately I don't have the tools to modify tools aside from a cutting wheel on a dremel. I'm a bit limited in what can do. That's why I'm leaning toward the StewMac wrench - a one-and-done solution if I (and their customer service rep) have the measurements right.
 
You can't trim the shaft too much, at each end the socket is only about 1 3/4" deep. I used to carry a 5/16 box end wrench with me, I could remove the bits from one end and use the wrench on the 1/4 I.D. sleeve at the other when needed.

It looks like you're correct about the 1 and 3/4" available depth - which doesn't surprise me, since you're usually spot on, IMO... I would say that still allows for any depth concerns here, though - and would make for a very usable tool when paired with a 5/16" allen wrench...
