Peavey grind headstock differences

I may be trading this guy an amp for a peavey grind 4. Looking at the pics he sent me it seems to have a different marking on the headstock than what I've normally seen on them. It almost looks like a signature or something. Does anyone know what the difference is? I'm guessing it has to do with where it was manufactured and what year bur I can't find any info. I'll add pics of the two different types I've seen

It is a signature , Hartley Peavey's.

It wasn't on the 2001 US Grinds nor the 2002 BXP models. When the Vietnamese neck through models appeared in 2004 , Hartley's signature was at the tip of the peghead. 2008 saw it moved in front of the TR cover, think those were the start of Indonesian production. Back to the tip for 2009/10, gone by 2011.

Okay so if it's in the middle it's a mid 2000's model? I'm trading him an ampeg ba210 for it and I just wanna know what I'm getting. I think it's a fair trade (more in my favor from what I've seen the amp and that bass sell for) I've never really played peavey basses but I't looks nice. I've read mixed reviews

They are decent basses.
Trouble with reviews is you don't know what the person's expectations were. The Grinds are solid well made through neck basses which happen to be affordable

Thanks for this thread, because I am wondering about the age of my Grind. It has no signature and was made in Vietnam according to the back of the headstock. Is there someone who has helpful information? I traded it for an old Aria 4 string last year, but the former owner didn't have any information, because he also didn't get any information when he received it...
