Installing new pots, tuners and compression round Smiths along with a good cleaning and conditioner.

Great find!

I'm seeing these pop up in music stores and pawn shops from time to time in the $300 - $350 range. They really are pretty nice basses.

They're nice instruments, but I just couldn't bond with my six-string. Too heavy (mine was right at 13 pounds) and too dark-sounding, plus the 35" scale was killing my wrist. I ended up gifting it to a band director friend of mine from high school, and he loves it, so all in all I'm still happy I bought it. I made up for the loss by getting two more T-40s.

I just tuned up my Grind 4-string after replacing the broken bridge. It sounds great, and plays great. I adjusted the trussrod a tiny bit, and now the action is where it should be.
