Peavey Koa Dynabass 5 string?

For the last 20 years I've only have 1 bass, a Koa Peavey Dynabass (4 string). The bands I've been in for the last couple of years have needed me to either retune or restring with a low B between rehearsals. Well, I'm kinda getting sick of it and am starting to convince myself that its time to get a second bass (although I feel like I'm cheating on my dynabass). So I'm figuring the best thing I could do is get another Dynabass! I haven't been able to find any info, so suspect they don't exist, but did Peavey make any Koa Dynabasses 5 string?

Just sold a Koa Unity and a Sunburst T-40 to get a 5 string Cirrus. Would have loved to keep em both, but I made the right decision. I think I saw a 5 string dyna posted on hear somewhere, but I cant remember. I'll do a little digging and see if I can find it.

^^^ What he said, TL-5. I'm not aware of any Koa Dyna Unity 5 strings being made. The TL-5 will sound different since it doesn't have the P-J setup but they are fine instruments and very flexible as far as sound.

5 string Unity, hmmm? The Unity (Koa) version was discontinued in the 90's.

I've got a bolt-on neck - 5 string Dyna Bass with Super Ferrite pups.

That's a very good price. If I didn't have three TL-5's, I'd buy it.

A Koa D-B 5 would be on my list if I thought I could find one, - one of those would be killer.

I wish I could find another Peavey Dyna Unity bass!! I had the Walnut or Koa finish (not sure) was a 4 banger. Loved that bass. Wish I had never sold it!!

The natural finish cirrus is an upgrade - theres a reason bill dickens, John Taylor, Rudy saris play them - heck all three have signature models.

I believe a tricked up millenniums superior to the cirrus

Thanks guys. I've had it for a while. I understand four were made and three went to artists and I was able to get this one. The previous Super Ferrite version had the 5 knob Dyna pre, which I liked better, so I built that version for this bass. All the pots are on wires. I used the switch location for the High control and moved the switch between the Vol and Balance. Besides looking good, it's the epitome of "plays like butter". There's no clear coat on it. It's been rubbed with mineral oil and polished down about twice a year for 20 years.

MarkyDynaBass...if you don't use the G string that much you could always string yours up BEAD and work around the lack of a G. Doesn't really take much to do it. And I think a D-tuner would fit fine on the E string if you're playing stuff with a drop D.

I had a Dyna-5 in Grey Metallic. As for the Koa option on those,no idea.
