I've been using the 1x10 combo of this series at a local rehearsal studio. It sounds strangely huge for it's size and has no problems punching through our 8-piece band with a fairly loud drummer.

BUT, the knobs are really crappy. Maybe they're getting tons of use, but they just spin around with no resistance. I could almost adjust the volume by blowing on it, like a weathervane.

I have a brand new 112 and have the same complaint. It's not the use. Just the nature of the dials. Love every other aspect of this amp though.

That was our main comment to Peavey after checking out the head at NAMM.

Good. Would hate to see a seemingly fantastic head be knocked because of something as minor as faulty/unreliable knobs

I was just told that my GK MB 150 can not be repaired, so I was thinking of replacing it with either the Max 112 or 115. Maybe I'll just wait a while.

I know what you mean. I have a MAX115 II I bought for a 'bang around' combo. I don't think the knobs are 'crappy'. They work well. The way they feel is unusual. Not loose or 'wiggly', but almost no resistance to turning.

My old ex Peavey cabs were bulletproof and NEVER let me down....not once.

I'd ne interested in the spec on the 1x12s! When do they hit the UK?

People seem to be complaining a lot about those chicken head knobs. Can't you just replace them with a dial knob if you want to.

It's the looseness of the shaft on the pot that is the issue. The knobs themselves are not bad (though they are really light, which probably compounds the "light feel" issue). If they can tighten up the aperture (hole) that the shaft passes through, that would likely help a lot.
