Peavey MiniMega 1000

All my cables and pedals go into my Tick bag that hangs on my Mono gig bag. My strap and wireless transmitter and the cable for that go in the lower pocket of the gig bag. That way, I have everything I need, no matter which amp I take to a gig. Each amp has its own power cord that stays with it, but that's it. I want a bag or case for the mM that is just the right size to hold the amp and power cord and that's pretty much it.

If I only ever used the mM as may amp for everything, then I would probably look for something different, that would hold everything.

This smaller gator g mix bag is a perfect fit for the Mega. I think it runs about $35.

Thanks again for posting those pictures. I emailed Odyssey on Monday, with questions about their bag and never got a response. So, on Wed evening, I ordered this same bag. It looks like they changed the stitching color since you got yours. And, of course, now, they have an ever newer version of this bag, that is totally redesigned and, from what I can tell, thicker in the interior compartment height, than I would want for this amp.

The padding in the sides, front, and back (i.e. the 4 small sides) is thin, but there. One picture below shows me pinching it to give an idea of how thin it is. But, at least there is SOME padding there. And the top and bottom of the case (the two big sides) have padding that feels quite a bit thicker.

All in all, I am totally satisfied with this bag and I am glad I didn't spend any more money for something "better".

This is a picture of the Peavey bag (top) and the Gator bag (bottom) side by side to compare the shoulder strap rings and clips. The Gator's are also plastic, but it all looks more beefy than the Peavey bag's "hardware". I'm hopeful that it won't let me (or my amp) down.

No prob. Hope it holds up for you. I've been using that bag to haul micros and other gear for the last 5 years or so. It seems fairly durable.

Could someone please provide a model number, if there is one, for the Gator bag? Not sure it's absolutely needed but it may help cutting to the chase on Amazon....

The heft has me happier with my sealed 15s than I've ever been. They're punching like a heaveyweight boxer with a hunger for the belt. It might be my go to rig for now and I've never been a huge fan of sealed cabs.

Scored a great used price from an internet site. Arrived in excellent condition. I have to get it out on a gig, but preliminary impressions are favorable. I put it into a laptop sleeve then inside a padded laptop bag. I get all my amp bags from Goodwill . Old laptop bags for the bigger laptops will work!

If you need 2.6 ohms, check out the Phil Jones Bass line of heads. Definitely a more expensive option but a great company.

Hi folks, I've been getting a rather loud buzz from this amp whenever I use the on-board preamp on my bass (one is an Audere, the other is a Fender). The buzz goes away when I switch the preamp off and run the bass passive. Is this:
(a) A defect that needs to be repaired
(b) Operator error
(c) Just something this amp does
(d) carrots
