Peavey Scorpion Plus 15” question

Maybe it's a thing they did for the Australian market or it was a new crossover from the new run of the new 1820s. My 1820, the tall, one had the same crossover. Both used the same components. The taller 1820s had more space for the 18

A pleasure...enjoy using your new cab. I'm a Peavey cab user from the 80's..my 1820 cab still pumps heaps of air and is the Thunder From Down Under loll My Peavey 1820 cab is loaded with an 18" Black Widow and 2 x 10" Scorpions. Head is a Peavey MKIV..a great rig.

Used a Peavey Mark IV through a 215D w/Scorpions for a very long time.

Such good rigs.

Peavey was a little ahead of the times when it came down to cabinet tuning...

maybe i don't quite understand tuning but the main reason i said this was because the 215D and 215D with black widows are the same enclosure essntially.

Is it possible to tune a cab for two different speakers?

I rocked this exact rig from my first gigs in ‘91 until 2002/03 or so. It will always be my favorite.

Yes, provided the TS parameters of the two drives share enough commonality. Since they designed both families of drivers, they were free to do what they needed during the design phase.

Well spotted. This one has only Electra on the headstock, but some otherwise identical instruments have both Electra and Westone. (Mine has aftermarket Gotoh hardware.)

Scorpion Plus speakers are great for bass, easily handling 200W each, as they do have a slightly bigger magnet and the kevlar impregnated cone vs the standard Scorpion (which is a great guitar speaker). The Scorpions are lighter than BWs, too, so that's a "Plus" (see what I did there).
I have a 1990 1x15" Peavey cab with a Scorpion Plus and it's killer.
