Peavey T-40 Club Part 2

Hey everybody, I bought a Red with Rosewood fretboard T-40 yesterday and I know the rule, no pics no bass but I'll have pics up later today when the suns out and it has exceeded my expectations, but it is a little on the heavy side but I think I will get used to it over time.

Hey Andrew..
Lookin good there. I am glad you like the bass. I just picked up a Mesa Boogie 8x10 today.. It rocks! But just like the T40 it weighs a ton. Oh well the sacrifices we must make for kick ass gear. By the way I have a bunch of pics of that T40 I took as well if you want them I can upload them for ya. Just let me know.

Does anybody know how many Fretless Peavey T-40s were made?

and why I am asking is because there is a T-20 with a T-40 FL neck on ebay and just wonderded how many were factory made FL.

If you dig the peavey, thats all that matters. I dig epiphone, they live at the top of the basher list but i could care less, i get the tone i want from them and they play real smooth under my hands.

Hey T-40 club, I was at a store called music-go-round and i saw a White and Black T-40 with a maple neck for $249.99 Is that price decent for it? I'm interested but I dont want to get ripped off.

I'm hoping to join soon. I've been looking at rics and jazz's to go along with my fender P and beatle bass copy. But these sound awesome, and why pay more for something else when I can get one of these.

I played the one i saw, sounds alot like my ibby atk. comes with a hard case i guess too.... I gotta come up with a way to get it though...

Couple questions: Where's the serial number? Where can I get a truss wrench? This one's really clean. I replaced all the caps, and bypassed the phase switch. It sounds great.

Nice score Munji!! The serial on mine is upside-down, stamped into the maple on the back of the headstock. Here's a decoder:

I've had mine for a couple of years and the neck is rock solid, so I haven't even taken the trussie cover off! The previous owner also said he never messed with it.

I've had mine for a couple of years and the neck is rock solid, so I haven't even taken the trussie cover off! The previous owner also said he never messed with it.

Same here, when I had mine the neck was ridiculous, I tried multiple sets of strings on it over the years, different gauges and tensions and the neck was in perfect alignment 100% of the time. That thing was like a rock.

Thanks. The neck on this one is actually pretty good right now, but it could use a minor tweak. It's an '81.

I didnt my work cut my hours in half right after i found it, and with christmas coming there just wasnt enough money in the budget to get it plus i had just bought my $400 Schecter 3 weeks before.

I will eventually find a T-40 though, I liked that one wayyyy to much to go without one forever... $250 was a good price too.

I did. Was delivered quickly but I can't remember the price.

so i found one on CL for 375. it's a 1979, in the clear/maple finish and the original owner is selling it.

i've never played one of these but i've wanted one so badly ever since i saw my main man Leonard Hubbard playing one in the Roots video "Proceed" (circa 1994).

is it worth a 2.5 hour drive each way? i might try and talk him down to 300?

(i hope these money questions don't count as a violatation of the sticky)
