Peavey T-40 Club Part 2

@RadioactiveGuy4

I've had at least 3 different preamps in one of my 40's. I honestly can't see you doing it without altering the body.
1st thing is where will you keep the battery ? Other issues are the barrel jack socket can get in the way, the blend pot can catch on the cavity wall. The channel for pickup wire is too narrow and limits room for manoeuvre.

If you bought a blank PG then you've more leeway positioning the pots but I'd still think you'll be breaking the router out. I made the control cavity deeper,drilled an inch hole in the side for a recessed Telecaster jack socket,cut the pickup wire channel wider then sunk a battery box in the back.

I bought a new gig bag online for my 5-string, but it turned out to be the guitar version IGBMIKRO. If anyone could use it, PM me and I'll give it to you for actual shipping. New and unused, tag still on it.
Wondered why I didn't get a response, just realized I posted this in the wrong forum! Meant for the Ibanez Mikro forum. Sorry!

saw this on fergbook

kinda cool

how many of you string through body?

I plan on getting chromes on mine, any problems with string through with those?
There is no top loading option on a T40 or T45. Personally I use La Bella flats and the only issue from them on T40's to other basses is feeding the strings through the 40's bridge can be a PITA. Sometimes the strings catch underside of the bridge plate so it's a fiddle getting them through the holes.

hmmm

sorry, didn't know that

will they require xl long strings?

this one has been delivered to my luthier

I seem to recall something about TI's and through body but I'm probably confused again :laugh: No problems with La Bella Jamerson's on 1 T40 nor with the nylon tapes on the other.

Can't quite see how there could be an issue. The 51 P-bass was through body and back then there was only flatwound strings.

My 2nd T40 had them for 8 years with no issues either.
