Peavey TKO 80 appreciation thread

My very first bass amp was a venerable TKO 80. I played in a family band and used that amplifier on dozens of gigs, with no PA support. I then played in various metal bands through high school and subjected it to all sorts of horrendous abuse, including accidently kicking it off a 5 foot raised stage onto a hardwood floor. In my early twenties, I gave the amplifier to my parents to use as a drum machine amp for their two piece old time band. Ten years later, they are still using it, while various Edens and Traynors have blown up all around it. Last week I went home for a few days and played my newly defretted 6 through the old Peavey and it still sounds great. I think once my folks quit playing on the road, I'll ask for it back. That may be a decade from now, but I really don't think that will make much difference. Vive TKO 80!

I have one that I currenty use in my basement at home as my practice amp. At one time, I used it to rehearse with a band and I had to crank it, but it kept up with a loud drummer, 2 guitars and keyboards. It's big, old and heavy, but the thing continues to sound really great every time I play it and it's absolutely indestructible.

I am trying to remember but I think I had a TKO 80 back in the late 80's (its the one with a 15 inch speaker, right?) Anyway, it was a tank and sounded good, but it was falling short of keeping up in a band situation volume wise, so I traded it in on a...get this...Crate Head and Peavey cabinet. The Crate sounded so sterile, but it was loud.

I have a tko 80 bit it keeps blowing the fuse. Any ideas?
I really like the amp. One of the best at home practice amps I've found. But I like simple plug and play. This amp is king for that.
But yeah any help with the fuse would be huge.
Thanks, God bless,
