Peavey TNT 115s help

My Old Peavey 115s is having issues. I've searched everywhere I can think of and can't find an answer.

Everything looks to be working, but I'm getting no sound. Using a Tuner I can tell that the signal is just fine going along the entire path, and is working at the Power Amp out. But I'm getting nothing from the speaker.

So I then took the speaker out and checked it with a 9 volt...speaker is good! I looked over the head, I can't tell any blown fuses at all, and everything looks fine on the inside. So any clue what could be the reason I'm getting no sound? Thanks!

Here's a thought, if your amp has an effects loop set-up, take a 1/4 male cord plug, and insert it into the pre-amp out & the power amp-in jacks about 1/2 dozen times ...see if that does something ...those jacks are switching jacks and they do sometimes get temperamental

And you know, kinda makes sense. It went out after a gig one night at college when I was rolling it back to the dorm. I had to go over some cobblestone and it really was shaking the crap out of it. I thought maybe something came loose but everything was fine on the inside. But possible the jack got knocked around to be registering as on....

I have the exact same amp as you with the same problem. It's just tempramental (probably because they're old amps). But on the upside, I have an excuse to get a new rig

check and verify with an other speaker..

These things are solid

No go on the Power Amp jacks :\

But new discovery. I noticed the speaker still has the audible "pop" when I turn it on and off.

I have one of those and to me it never sounded right. I've been toying with the idea of replacing with a 15" BW. Not sure if I need 4ohm or 8 ohm tho.

Speaker is 4 ohm.

Sigh. This is pissing me off. Took it apart again, I checked every wire and connection I could, everything seems solid. ><

At one point today I had a very loud pop when I was fiddling with knobs and it suddenly worked. Everything sounded great. For about five minutes. Then, the sound slowly started fading, and after about 20 seconds, back to the silence. I haven't been able to reproduce it.

I have the an old 115 that I finally had to retire after over 2 decades and probably 1000s of gigs. I don't have an answer to your problem, but I can tell you not to stick your fingers in the back of it while it's plugged in. I did when it crapped out at a gig once. Never did that again.

You might want to re-seat any IC chips, that are in sockets I once had an issue with my Combo 300 speaker plug, at the PC board, had to re-tension the female scokets, and a bout 6 month later it went dead again and I re-tensioned all the molex connections and that cured my problem
