Peavey VB-2 vs. The World

My Peavey Classic 400's power section is E-normous. I run a select few pedals as my preamp into the effect return and I can't see any amp being any better. PV isn't the "sexiest" but they are solid in every way. Just take the badge off and tear buildings down.

I was considering taking the badges off, but I think there is enough Irony and throwback in the rig to rock it proudly in my circles. In fact at this point I should rock the full stack.
Maybe get a peavey t-shirt and belt buckle :D

If the gear sounds good, that is what matters, not the badge on it. I understand if you're at the pro level, there might be some "gear requirements" to get the gig, but for anything up to that level, it's the sound that matters. I have a modified SX bass that I'd put up against any sub-$1500 bass, tone-wise.

I also love my VB2. For some reason it just gets the tone I'm looking for better than any of my other amps (Ampeg, Trace, GK, Nemesis, Markbass)

+1 I got mine on clearance from GC. It was a floor model and I got it for $499 with the full 5 year warranty. I thought I would use it for a while ,save some more cash, flip it for a profit and get a SVT.
Almost a year later I have no plans on selling it.

Wow, $500 with the full warranty? Talk about being in the right place at the right time! How do you transport it? Do you have a case for it? That's one of the things keeping me from buying a traditional "head" head; I'm afraid of transport damage. A flight case is almost mandatory.
