Peavey VB-2 vs. The World

Thats a cool recording Bobby, but too much guitar in my opinion!! All I hear is a bunch of overdriven guitars! I want hear that bass by itself dude, we need some reggae/dub recordings of the VB2. That is where I think this amp shines, nothin' but fat tubey gooiness that sits out front by itself.

That is also the context I use it in. So you can hear the instruments seperated a bit more.

I play mostly Dead and jam band based type of stuff using the VB2/Ampeg 810 rig. This amp is great for hitting open E's and B's and letting it ring for the entire measure. Some songs call for that or else I do it when lazy. On the other end of the spectrum the highs cut through nicely when playing upper register. I also play in an alt country band but I use the Carvin rig for that situation.

I have a recording I did with a VB-2 an 810 and an SM57. Maybe I can dig it up. What's the best way to share?

Awesome thread title.... I friggin' love this amp so much I bought 2! (VB-2... two VB-2's!!!) I love to crank this thing and get some crazy grind and thump going. The best thing about it is that it doesn't weigh nearly what a SVT does and it comes very close in tone. The mid switch really lets this thing take off and it structures dialed settings very nicely. Sounds VERY beefy with some fuzz/overdrive too, it can go from subtle growl to some feriously (furious+seriously!!!) volatile rage.

I would love to find a VB-3 if its nearly the same level of beast the VB-2 is. I run this thing with my locked 'n loaded Stingray and blow all Gitards to smithereens!:bassist:
