Peavey VB-2 vs. The World

It's fantastic! I've had this heavy rock tone in my head for years and got something completely new with the VB-2/Mesa combo. It's very mid rich and grindy with a perfect, deep bellow from the 15"; cuts through the mix effortlessly. I'm a finger player primarily but once I add a pick the sound is crazy; heavy low end and guitar like overdrive all simultaneously. If I can get my idea of having two channels of a that sorta sound as a clean tone in one channel along with a punchy fuzzy/overdrive in another, the Gitards can call it a day!:bassist:

Felt compelled to take part in all this VB-2 love. 2 1/2 years so far with this one and still loving it :bassist:

Hi. Im a 42 yrs owner of 69' 2x15" cab. Had a Windsor tube for tone from GK preamp. All the others back em up under my 600 Watt mark VIII. Got pic both here @ eps-15c post & on Gibson talk @ intro epicenter amps & low down. Just look for my handle tap little guitar & amp album. Best of luck with peaveyy. Fudgemaster.:bassist::hiding:

Custom tolex? Whaaa??? Does this go for the VB-3 as well? Is it different colors? Please elaborate...

Yeah, they'll do different colors and different materials like old school varnished tweed depending on what you want to spend. We've been doing it for about 4 years, but it's not really well known. All you have to do is go to your Peavey dealer and ask them. Invalid Link Removed is the page that talks about it, but it doesn't really show the possibilities.

The VB-3 is now sprayed with "line-X" to match the VB cabs, so that one probably doesn't qualify.

I was thinking about getting a case for it but it sits on the back seat of my truck nicely, I just wrap the seat belt around it. Put it in a case and it will weigh as much as a SVT!

I had Susan at Studio-Slips design and make heavily-padded zippered "clamshell" bags for my VB-2 and my VB-3. They provide all the "bump and scrape" protection that I need with very little added weight. I had her add some leather strips under the feet, and a zippered pouch on the back for power cord, footswitch, etc.

She has the measurements stored in her database, so it'll be easy for her to make more.

Great product!!

wow!
I just checked out Studio-Slips, awesome stuff there! If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for your cover?

i just bought one of these today brand new for 630 cdn pretty good deal since every other one locally was going for full price of 899. It is pretty loud, noticeably more than the traynor yba 200, and noticeably more low end too. Ill just figure out now which cabinet to pair it with. With a weak sounding jazz bass it was pretty loud, i can't imagine how it will be with my sterling or precision.
