Peavy TNT 100

Traded some vinyl for this guy today. Sounds pretty good! ImageUploadedByTalkBass1369802120.048629.jpg

That is my 1st bass amp when I started learning and Yes I bought it new. Definately a heavy SOB, but it always sounded good. Played thru one a couple years ago for the 1st time in years, still sounded good and was still a heavy SOB.

Very Cool!

They peavy is def used. I traded a guy a bunch of records for it. No cash. I had doubles of most of the records anyway. The b100 is pretty cool. Sounds good to me but I like how the peavy sounds better. It has more balls.

My first amp was a late '70s TNT100. Thing sounded great. I was ust getting ready to have it recovered when it died. I ended up donating it to a local trade school's electronic shop.

Mine was heavy too. I often lugged that thing up and down several flights of stairs in my college dorm and now completely understand the popularity of micro amps and light weight cabs.

The tolex on the old Peaveys usually cleans up pretty good, but it requires a scrub brush with the deep graining they used. A little steel wool will clean up cab corners if they are pitted. I have that amp's little brother, a TKO 80, I ported the cab and it is unbelievable how much it woke up that amp. I have nothing against sealed cabs, but those old Peavey's had pretty low-volume enclosures that really seem to work against the speaker at lower frequencies. But that's a cool old amp, enjoy!

Equipment has come a long way.

I had one of those TNT's in high school. I used it for jazz band concerts and weekend trio gigs for "old folks" (you know, the people over 35 or 40). LOL

That amp was a lot lighter than my 360.

Wish I still had the 360, the TNT---no.
