Double Bass Pecanic Bridge

Robin Ruscio said:
I have hit rock bottom- i will be checking into rehab, so i will write when all is better . . . . sorry! I'm sure their great bridges . .
Don't feel bad, Robin. I almost did the same thing when this thread started. Fortunately, I caught myself before going too far down that road.

Chalk it up to Mike's pieces of tail being so drop-dead gorgeous. Luthier porn.

Earth to Robin ! Paul did he get to play your bass ?
Oh, of course....everybody around here has tried to play my bass. I say try not as a put down but because there are some pretty strange things such as the extra string, the added shoulder humps and the scalloped type channels in the FB under the B & G strings!

Josh, and Fingers...what are you gonna do about fitting the bridge feet to the arching on the top? The old carbon paper trick??
If you're not experienced with shaping bridge feet, you could make a carbon scratching of the arching and Mike could even do that for you.
Like I said, I've decided against his bridge because of the height issue. For the feet, though, I plan to put some sandpaper on the top of the bass and rub the feet on it. I'd use carbon paper for checking if I knew where to get some. How could I use carbon paper to show someone the arching?

That came out wrong...sorry. I just meant to use it for checking to see if your bridge feet needed any more sanding/scraping.
You have a problem getting carbon paper in Texas?

I'll be there with this New Age Dancer that I work with. I will play solo while she recites mystic poetry from the 12th century.
Where? When? I'll come. We'll hang. I got a couple Ross/Warburton basses and some other stuff you might enjoy....You can play the Bohmann, then report back here that you did. We can get Robin Ruscio to bring over his Hawkes.......As a matter of fact....are you bringing a bass? If you don't wanna bring one, I can cover you.
