Pedal Effects Recordings

This might belong in the Recording forum, but I was wanting to hear TalkBass recordings using the effects pedals so often chatted about here. The more effect and in an actual mix (vs. solo) the better. Let's here those phase shifters, octavers, envelope filters, and other pedals than can be so intriguing to figure out how to use well in an actual band-type setting.

I'll give you an example: I've had a Hotone Skyline Octaver for two years. Every time I tried it on it's own, it sounded like a crappy version of a synthesizer trying to be an organ. Well, this week I finally tried it in the mix with drum, guitar and vocal tracks. I'm pretty happy with the bass results (much less happy with my guitar and vocal skills). Maybe this thing is alright after all.

Bass effects:
Hotone Skyline Octaver: 50% octave #1, 10% octave #2 and set to dirty (analog)
SansAmp dUg DP-3X: 40% to 60% range on all settings except 100% on compression (gain button off)

It's been a long time since I recorded this, but a million years ago I rehoused a russian bassballs and pulled the filter trimmers out of it and dialed in this real subtle tone. M13 bass octave> bassballs.

I'd apologize for all the things that could be improved, but no ragrets.

That's a wicked cool sound. It almost has a "croaking" quality to it.

It was important to me that the work I put in getting moving the pots could get more than the double squeal the bassballs is known for . Thank you.

This is A studio recording of my previous band. Majority of the song is a darkglass b7k ultra and a sans amp rbi run parallel to their own tracks. For the breakdown I threw on the Darkglass duality in front so it went into both the sans amp and the b7k.

With my new band Silent Sun I'm using the darkglass microtubes X a low and occasionally the tc nova repeater delay the mxr bass octave deluxe Sprinkled in here and there But I don't have any decent recordings of the new band yet just a couple live demos from band rehearsal.
