Pedal Recase?

So I've got an old Boss ODB3 which I love but I've been looking to get it recased. Does anyone have some info on who can do something like that?

For looks or for function? If for looks, lots of people (I'm a DIYer, so I can't really guide you to them). If for function, you're not going to do much better than the box Boss provided without wiring your own brand new pedal.

Looks really, I love the pedal but the box is lackluster. I emailed JHS as they do them, but it seems to be on the pricy side. A new box in a cool color with new knobs is basically what I'm looking for.

Boss are tough to rehouse because of the proprietary enclosure and parts and stuff.

BOSS rehousing starts around 60$.
Don't know if it fits your budget.

He made mods to my Clone Theory and Deluxe Mistress (led, true bypass, power). Very happy with it.

I rehoused my boss oc2, danw did mine. I can't get a hold of him anymore though. I've wanted others done by him but no luck... he did a fantastic job though.

It is usually pretty expensive if you pay someone to do it. Usually $80-150 plus shipping both ways from what I've seen.

No he was actually very informative the entire time, and updated fairly frequently. The only thing he expressed to me was I couldn't get true bypass on the pedal. I also asked about the boss ls2 and he said that'd be possible too, at the time it wasn't useful for me though. When I say I can't get a hold of danw I mean he literally wont answer my emails about any rehousing. I'm not complaining about that it could any type of issue. But out of everyone I've researched, he has been the most talented and fairly cheap. I think I paid around $80 for rehouse + etch. Anyone reading this, no frustration towards danw at all, his stuff is amazing!

It's because of all the proprietary parts that Boss uses, the footswitch being a big part of it.

Why not just sell that pedal and use that money to upgrade it to something that works better for you?

That's probably good news given that JHS would likely take your pedal, rehouse it, and sell it back to you as one of their own designs for twice as much.

Yeah I would definitely avoid JHS at all cost. Really shady company.

Well the thing is, I love the tone of this pedal. I use it over a Wren and Cuff Pickle Pie B and a Big Muff. I just want to church up the look of it and put a new switch in.

Is JHS known for doing that with designs? Have an example?

I've found thru doing enough repairs on Boss pedals that all they use for switches are momentary contact. I've been using switches I got from an old computer keyboard to replace the dead ones I run into.
