Not sure about you folks, but I’m tired of worn out pedal foot switches so...I wonder is it safe to plug the power adapter into a switched power outlet and manually turn off the power that way (this is for use at home - not for band stuff)...can it cause harm to the pedal to disengage power this way?

Does this make sense?

Yes. In fact, using the footswitch to turn off a pedal doesn't turn off the pedal, it just disconnects it from the signal path.

Using a switched power strip is a totally fine way to kill the power supply.
