interested in this pedal wireless myself as well...

here's what i found regarding its range:
"In use we managed to get around 40m away from the receiver with a thick studio wall in the way before the signal became poor. With a direct line of reception (no walls in the way!) Sony claim a distance of up to 60m can be achieved and that should cover all those stadium gigs you'll be doing no problem!"

I own, use, and recommend the Line 6 G30. I have never had an issue with it. I like that it takes AA Batteries, and I have not had any issues with rechargables in mine. I like that it takes a 1/4" cable in the body pack, so no funky proprietary cables.

I just returned the Sony wireless. I wish that it worked the way it was intended to but it did not outperform my Line6 G30. I thought that it had been mislabeled at my GC since they sold it to me for $149. I loved the tuner and XLR outputs, the gain reduction switch and the wide and narrow band switch. The transmitter was metal and looked very professional. It just didn't work very well. There was a hiss in the background and some sort of pulsing interference on all of the channels. The big deal breaker was that when my guitar player turned on his G30, I had horrendous interference on 10 of the 12 channel selections. Even the channels that worked had unacceptable noise in the background. The guitar player's line 6 unit was unaffected by the Sony. My G30 sounds great and has adequate range for my needs, it just suffers from annoying, random 1 second dropouts about once each set. My guitar player's identical G30 has been rock solid so maybe I've just been plagued by bad units all along. I just thought that the fact that my GC was blowing out the Sony wireless for such a low price might be an indication that they have had a lot of returns.

Sorry the system did not work for you
My system is used twice a week in heavy wi fi and other 2.4 ghz traffic (IEM and a couple of Line 6 systems)

Can you tell me which GC is selling for $149 because I want to pick up 2 more. I went to their site and it still shows $399 for new and $369 for blemeshed

I got the Sony at the GC in Seattle on Westlake. I thought that they had entered the price incorrectly into their computers when the price came up $149.00, but they double checked. Even the microphone system that usually goes for around $700.00 was selling for $299.00. Like I said, I really wanted this unit to work because it feels solid and has great features. The salesman said that they were blowing them out.
