Hi, I have a pedalboard with 8 pedals and I'm getting some noise. I bought a buffer but I don't know if I need to put it at the start or at the end of the chain.

It depends on what issue you need the buffer for, what kind of bass do you use, what length of cables before and after your board, what pedals you currently have, and how many of them are true bypass and normally off. Noise is not typically one of the issues you are going to solve with a buffer.Hi, I have a pedalboard with 8 pedals and I'm getting some noise. I'd also try the front, that is at the start of the pedal board, UNLESS you have pedals that are sensitive to buffers, like a Fuzz Face. Which is one of the instances I'd place the buffer after a specific pedal.Hi, I have a pedalboard with 8 pedals and I'm getting some noise. I would also try it at the start.
What sort of noise are you getting, and is it possible to isolate it at all? Sometimes ambient noise in pedalboards can be a result of your power supply being pushed to its limits; are you using a power supply which offers enough mA to safely power all 8 pedals?

Chances are good at least one of your pedals is buffered already - what's on your board?
Yes, a Fender lvl 8. I notice more noise with my passive bass also when using the fuss pedal.
The noise one is the pj bass squier vintage modified soloing the j pickup or when using the fuss pedal. Looking for info I will try shielding it with copper tape and check the electronics. What bass is it?
More noise with a fuzz pedal can be normal. An increase in gain usually increases the noise floor.
I have a fender engine room lvl 8 and 2 cheap daisy chain type power supply. Thinking in getting another power supply box with 8 outputs and take out the cheap ones.Without knowing what's causing the noise it's hard to tell if the buffer will fix it.
What kind of noise is it? How are you powering the pedals? I'd start with one pedal only, and add the others one by one and see which one causes the problem.
