Pedalboard full - what now?

The fact is that I always say to my girl when I want to play: “I’m gonna fiddle a bit with the pedals”. My creative process is basically playing riffs and leads and exploring different combos with pedals. From there I get ideas and songs.

So basically I always want to play around with pedals, sometimes for 2 hours and not playing a single song. For that reason my pedalboard is big, I want to have options, and is crazy because I like craziness (ring mod, Fairfield 20% more, mantic flex just to name a few).

With that in mind I’m considering the novo 32 just because I can theoretically have a lot of free space for the future and it is still portable.

Also consider WHERE the pedals will live. All mine fit on a Pedalboard Classic 2 but there's two rows, so I had to be careful about which pedals are on the upper row. Their buttons are harder to access so that's where my lesser used pedals live.

How many effects do your gigs require? I prefer only to carry around what I need, and just simply swap pedals in and out depending on the artist, the set list, the genre etc. The gig dictates what sounds I need.

I would not worry until you've exceeded Doug Wimbish levels and even then I won't worry - for you anyway.

For me I'll have to tell the cat to live somewhere if I get anymore gear - even a clip on tuner. I have a small house and not too keen on music stuff in the shed

One thing I have done (and probably will again shortly) is to choose some pedals that are always or that I never change the settings on, and put them on the bottom of the board. I use a loop switcher, so I can turn pedals on and off even when they are on the bottom. My board (below) is pretty full, and I need to add a MIDI controller. So I'm probably going to move the compressor to the bottom soon. Maybe the Morning Glory too.

You may have to put taller feet on your board to make room on the bottom.

I have my always on pedals, that I can easily tweak also, velcroed to the top of my Sisma head. Pre wired, so the whole thing comes out and goes back into it's case, which also holds all my other stuff, wires etc. My other Mesa heads are the same way but I had this pic close. Anyway, then you only need the small board on the floor. It works for my pedal configuration; it may have to be adjusted for others. Convenient fast setup and break down.

Sometimes the chasis is used for heat management in addition to the fan. Not sure of the design of the Sisma. Any issues?
