Another pedal into an Alpha Omega(or Omicron).

This was an Oxford, but I got similar results with a Darkglass X feeding into it.

Not punk, but very clanky and aggressive in the midrange. Also, fuzzed our around the edges.

Personal experience:

I've played MANY types of punk. Pop, crust, street, garage, and power-pop.

The only time i've ever used pedals, was in the crusty band. I used a beat up old green russian muff. Everything else was bass->tuner->amp.

Crank the mids, mess with the tone on your bass, play closer to the neck or bridge to further modify your tone.

Same here. I am not an anti-effect zealot, but I have never wanted or needed a pedal to play any type of punk. I like my clean, mid-heavy tone.

A good pedal for clanky, grindy overdrive is the relatively cheap Joyo Orange Juice, I wouldn't play with it on the whole time, but good for overdriven punk passages, similar to the Tech21 Oxford FaithNoMan recommended, just a lot cheaper still in production and with fewer EQ options.

Otherwise pick played mid punchy and upper mids/high end clank and grind with some high end bite as well.
