Honorable mention goes to the MXR Carbon Copy analog delay, but only because I haven't found a suitable use for it on bass yet. But I certainly have for guitar! I love how the echoes degrade as they repeat, just like those old tape delays like the Maestro Echoplex and Roland Space Echo. Possibly the best analog delay I've ever heard, and certainly the best one I've used.
I just read your post, and yeah, that's a lot of MXR. Some might even say that's a Way Huge amount of MXR (Get it? Way Huge...MX...oh, never mind!) But it's earned if you ask me, because MXR has been hitting some major home runs over the past few years with their pedals.
LOL...isn't that self-oscillation great??? But I've heard from a handful of bassists that the Carbon Copy Bright works better on bass since it doesn't get as dark. If I had a use for delay beyond playing "Bang The Drum All Day" every 3 years with my old band that I'm so glad to be out of, I'd have already gotten it.It's a really neat pedal. The repeats get a bit drowned out for my taste on bass, but the swelling self-oscillating feedback is super tasty. I use it as a here-and-there sound effect. Unlike the EHX Memory Toy, it stops feeding back when you cut the pedal off, so you're not in danger of kicking on a screaming noise machine by accident.

The ehx canyon was a surprise to me. I was using a memory toy for delay before, and the repeats tended to distort too much for my tastes. I don't see a need for any other delay pedals at this point.
