Pedals? Bah There is no pedal that I cant live without, but there are some pedals that may come in handy sometimes...

All of them- I won't go into them because it just seems like bragging(and somebody here is bound to have a tonne more).
I'd be thrown into a pit of dispair and have to take up golf instead if I couldn't use them. That's how bored I get with a clean tone.
If I had to choose just a few I'd have to go with a volume, slow gear and a good synth- ie deep impact/ Korgg5.

The ART Phat Boy is a decent all in one. Well almost all in one, there is no envelope follower... Discontinued but pretty available in the used market from around $100. Built like a tank. Not very flexible but the presets are usable, the EQ voice was well thought out and it has a number of useful features like DI and enough gain to drive a power amp. One oddity is that they use a 9v AC wall wart. Radio Shack sells a replacement...

Most days, there isn't a pedal I can't live without ... except the brake pedal of course (still chuckling over that one!)

I'll put in another vote for the Sansamp BDDI. I also use a Boss Flanger BF-3, and want to add a Unibass and SIB Fatdrive to my arsenal.

The Digitech Bass Driver Overdrive/Distortion. Hands down. I play EVERY song in our band with this pedal. This is about the only pedal I use at every band practice and gig. People complement how awesome and aggressive my wall of sound is. I love my OD and would NEVER sell it. It does what I tell it and thats awesome.

What pedals do you people have that you can't live without?

I've only been playing bass for about 2 years, and I want to get some effects pedals (finally), so if anyone could recommend a pedal, or pedals that would be good to have, I would appreciate it.

I'm a rock fan, I also like funk, jazz....some hard core, but not too much.

I'll second that in a BIG way. That and a DB659 are the best purchases I've ever made.

Electro Harmonix Black Finger compressor.....uses 2 tubes, gets a nice, fat, tube sound.....I have it in front of my SansAmp BDDI

I love my boss compression sustainer....helps sooooooooo much....its a better but at sustaining then compressing but still is a great pedal.
