pedals

iv been playing bass for 2 years and i just got a 5-string. I'd quite like to get a couple of pedals to help play machine head and korn type music, i was thinking a flanger and a distortion but i have little knowlege of pedals and effects, my budget is £100 , please can i have advice.

edit: both my basses are peavy milleneum if that makes any difference, and thanks for the help guys.

For the flanger, I can say that the Boss BF-2 is fantastic Distortion wise, its a matter of personal choice. I assume from the £ reference that you are in the UK, so check the for sale forums on Basschat.co.uk. Lots of good deals to be found there

Not to get into Fieldy's "technique", which doesn't always attract a lot of love around here, but I believe he uses or has used a Ibanez PD7 for some overdrive/distortion. Also recall an old Bass Player mag of him showing how he had several Boss Bass Synth pedals on his board.

I also remember a video of him teaching 'Got The Life' in which he described his use of the Boss Fuzz pedal. Not sure which model though. I will try and find the video later

And the synths he uses are the Digitech Bass Synth Wah and the Boss SYB-3
