I am going to upgrade to the PT-Jr. I am interested in the soft-gig bag version. The hard case looks ungainly and heavy and it a bit more than I believe I need for carrying along with two basses.

And there is the cost.

But, what say ye PedalTrain owners? At that board size, is the soft-case too much of a risk?

PT Jr? Go soft. I have a Pro and started with a soft case, it was still a pain to carry despite the lower weight, though I did like the pouch for carrying stuff. I ended up buying a separate hard case and using that since my pedals were getting too banged around in the bag. The hard case has it's advantages as well, easier to stack/load in the car/trailer.

I bought the JR with soft case, then bought the hard case for the JR. The bag is good and seems durable, but the hard case protects your pedal really good. Especially if you travel or have people helping you carry your stuff. Either one is good but just try to protect your hard earned money.

I have the pt-2 with the hard case. I could probably get by with the jr in a hard case because right now my head travels in there too. But I wouldn't want to give up how safe and sound everything is in there. The jr- hc is hardly unwieldy.

Those PT hard cases are the main reason I use a PT-2. I never worry about my pedals getting jacked up in any way...great for transporting. Plus whenever I show up to play with new musicians they're always like, "Is your pedalboard in there?!", and I'm like, "Yeah, one of 'em." BAM.

Then I kick on my IE QF2 feeding my B:Assmaster feeding my IE Xero Dlx and tell mf's to go make me a sandwich.
