Pedulla consesus?

I have wanted a Pedulla for many years and have been shopping around for something used. Seems like I should add one to the collection sooner then later!! One thing that confuses me is the "MVP" denotation. Is that a special type of Buzz bass or are all buzz basses MVP. I've seen certain tuners that say MVP on the back and headstocks that say MVP near the logo. Help!!!

Also, are there any "golden eras" or periods to stay away from?
MVP = fretted. Buzz = fretless

One thing to be aware of is that there was a period of time around the early 90s (I don't know the exact years) where Mike had a team of people working for him at the shop building the basses. My understanding is that he was less involved in the builds during that time and more focused on the business. Later he would go back to building everything himself. So if you want one built by the man himself keep that in mind.
