i suck at bass but will never give up
Good day bass mates!
Looking for opinions regarding Pedulla basses.
Can anyone give me an opinion about the sound, build, feel?
I loved the one I checked out, but for 3 grand, I'm a little scared.
Looking to make a deal with an awesome guy in Anchorage. Just hoping for a little input.
Cheers my friends!!!!

I am fortunate enough to have many higher end basses. About 3 months ago I got a beauty MVP4, ....it has more than blown me away. The neck is amazing and tones are thick and insanely aggressive.
I would call this one of my top 3 favs of all time.
I am on the hunt for a trans black one in great shape incase someone has one they want to sell/trade etc :)

The MVPs and Buzz basses (fretless version) were the higher-end basses of Pedulla's line, and were (and are) more expensive than the Thunderbasses, especially if they had exotic woods. I'd expect to pay in the $2K range for a solid or natural MVP/Buzz but $3K and up if it's flamed with a trans finish. Thunderbasses are more likely to be found $1K-$2K, in my experience.

(I miss the MVP I sold years ago!)

I suspect you can find one under three grand because I do not believe they were that popular for the last several years. If they were, I think he would have worked out a licensing arrangement like Sadowsky or Ken Smith.
Pedulla was upfront about his pride that all his basses were made in the US and there were never any licensed Pedullas. Pretty clear that he considered licensing a form of selling out or at least cheapening the brand, so I wouldn't attribute the lack of licensing to a lack of popularity. They went through a phase of being so popular that he stopped doing the work himself. Later he resumed doing all the work himself and announced it on his site.
