I do it when I can. Drives Ms skychief up the wall! But the drought in California is reaching record levels and we need to to do something. By using the sink, the "flush" is 4 or 5 cups of water vs. the 1.7 GALLONS of a toilet flush.
I hand-water the plants in the front yard. Ripped out the lawn in the back yard and laid down pavers. In the back yard we have only ONE plant that needs water, a sapling pear tree.
We are TIER 1 water usage (the lowest), yet we still get nasty-grams from Golden State Water Company telling us to reduce our water usage!
Meanwhile, our neighbor cheerfully waves to me while he and his kids wash his giant SUV with 40 or 50 gallons of water sloshing down his driveway.
It aint fair, i tells ya.
