Peeing In The Sink To Save Water?

The waste of water is rampant in L.A. The two water companies DWP & GSWC regularly mail flyers to customers with tips on how to save water. We even recieved a small package with a low-flow shower head.
Theres programs in place for citizens to 'rat' on others who flagrantly waste water. I personally dont condone this and will not participate in this aspect of water conservation.
But clearly, we are headed for some serious water restrictions like you saw in Melbourne. Possibly more.
Urine is one of the cleanest things in the world. It's sterile until something else touches and contaminates it.
Nice...When I was still in North Long Beach I used to be over your way quite often. Had a couple of good friends who lived in Carson and found myself driving out there a lot for various reasons. Now that I live in OC, it's like no one has ever heard of any part of Long Beach besides Belmont Shore, and save for the beach cities none of the South Bay exists
That's what I've always heard as well; didn't want to post it here and it ends up being some kind of urban legend. Don't want to be a fellow recipient in the pile-on that's been going on here

There are a lot of things you can do. When you take a shower get wet, turn off the water, soap up and scrub then turn the shower back on and rinse. Save laundry until you can wash full loads. Here at work I watch people washing their dishes. They leave the water running the whole time while they scrub their dish. If we pay attention there a lot of things we can do to cut back. Turn off the water while you are brushing your teeth. Take your car to a car wash where they recycle the water or park your car in the street and pray for rain.That is how mine got washed earlier this week.
I don't pee in the sink though. If the Mrs. slobake or I know someone else is going to be making a deposit right after us we send the whole thing down with one flush. Any clean water that is left behind by guests or otherwise we use to water our house plants.
You can also check you faucets for leaks.
Back in the 70's we had a saying. "If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down." We are at that point again.
This was going on in '91 as well. I remember putting bricks in the toilet tank to reduce the water. No one was washing their cars or watering their lawns. People switched over to drought resistant plants from more water consuming lawns and I drank beer instead of water. Mind you, this was Berkeley.
Same with the incoming.
I do maintenance at a few rental houses as a side job and have had a couple tenants jaws hit the floor, or thought I was just bs' ing them, when I had to explain that their 'toilet water' and the water that they drank, cooked with, and bathed in all comes from the same pipe.
Usually happened if I had to shut the water off at the street/meter for some reason.

Actually there is some good to be had here. Apparently certain kinds of toenail fungus can be maybe not cured but kept under control by peeing on it. Perhaps it's just an internet myth, but I guess if I had that problem I might give it a try - the drugs to kill it are nasty, and pee isn't going to hurt anything. And you probably have a good supply at the ready.
