Use Active Bass, click on Bassics, then choose the scale you would like to see.

C Major Pentatonic is C-D-E-G-A-C or I-II-III-V-VI-VIII(octave) and C Minor Pentatonic is C-Eb-F-G-Bb-C or I-bIII-IV-V-bVII-VIII(octave).

Seen it both ways too many time. If I was teaching a class, I'd call it the octave or the repeated tonic. But these kids aren't paying me enough for that.

VIII ? really, in all my years of study i have never seen it called that. oh well.

Yep, in print as well. Not 'VIII', but '8'. Like I said, just sticking to the roman numerals, etc... and if I was paid more, I'd go into the differences. People get on here and use Internet shorthand all over the place. I usually leave it out, but for some reason, some of these guys can't understand the repetition of the pattern at the 8.
