People that diss bands on the internet?

The internet is sooo full ****...

Just look at the comments on Youtube.

ie: this guy is doing some Jamiroquai basslines and is doing a realy good job, some no life geeks managed to flame him for bad timming. I mean, the guy was doing a better job then Zender:eyebrow:

agreed the internet is full of some cool people (ie talkbass.com) but its also full of kids with attitudes and no girlfriends who feel the need to vent there frustration out on the poor souls who put there work up for people to enjoy

i saw a billy sheehan video on youtube and some little 14 year old *insert chosen swear word here* had the nerve to call him garbage claiming "its just fast scales over n over anyone can do that this guy is lame"
i checked the kids site out there's a video of him playing bass along to my chemical romance and he's terrible

i think its the anonimity the internet provides that makes people behave like ar$eholes i've seen loads of forums where little twerps slate kerry king from slayer off but i bet you everything i own not one of them would have the guts to say it to his face

its internet cowardice "i can call you what i want coz you dont know who i am"

also: some bands are legitimately terrible.

P.S. people are entitled to their opinions! does anything positive have to come out of having an opinion? the answer is a resounding 'no.'

P.P.S. the internet is composed almost entirely of opinions.

No, I am sorry you're wrong. My internet 'opinions' are fact and the sooner you and everyone else realizes it the better. And your band sucks too. :hiding: :ninja: ;)

If it comes to the point where you actually take those seriously (and looking at this thread, seems some actually do) then maybe you shouldn't be an artist.

Every musician is going to get crap. For every artist there is bound to be a part of the population that doesn't dig what you do. If you can't take criticism I suggest you don't create anything.

I am sick of seeing crappy bands and crappy players over the internet and especially on youtube.I hate the fact that people make a video of them playing without knowing what they worth just to satisfy their ego and think they are the best. I also hate people who delete comments which tell them the truth(because only the crappy bands/players do that). I comment to those who have air insted of brain and I don't comment like "wow you are the best" when somebody plays nice or such cause he doesn't need this kind of feedback(I make exceptions though when I really like what I see).

I am a hater of showoffs!!!If that makes me a bad person, then yes I like being one!!!

Lol, everybody has some great points. I respect them all. I just see a lot of people giving every bands ****, and i was wondering why it was occuring. Me, i could not give a **** what anybody said about my band, because not everybody is going to like you, and if you have peope coming to your shows, the imo you are doing the right thing.

The internet is just the ultimate highway to get your music directly through to a lot of people. Of course there will always be wannabe's and dissers :D And just face it, the internet gives them ample opportunity.
But you can find little pearls of magnificient music that would otherwise be unknown to you.

Just be philisophical about it :p

I agree that people being anonymous is what it is. Its like road rage in your car. You think you are protected and safe in a 2 ton machine and you can quickly floor it if you need to "escape". Most people wouldnt cut in a line at the supermarket so why would you do it on the highway? You feel anonymous thats why.

I wouldn't pay much mind to ANY comments about musicians from a non musician.

Nothing wrong with criticism. Everyone has their own personal taste. But just because one doesn't like a certain band or genre doesn't mean that they're no good. Never fails to amaze me how few can comprehend something that simple.

no-one pays credence to virtually anything anyone says on the internet... even when, like me, a person's every utterance is a nugget of pure wisdom :D


it's only when something is shockingly AWFUL that people pay attention bad publicity... and even then it's doubtful whether it's a good thing... remember the world's worst tattooist, Chris Crinkle? his handiwork was (and still is) proudly displayed on his site: Link Removed

it got a storm of bad publicity (and rightly so), but he's still working and the negative comments (far worse than for any band as these are permanently disfiguring marks) have made no difference at all.... so, go figure...

compare that to some goofy teenage overprivileged keyboard warrior saying 'staurt zend0r sux0rs' etc on Youtube, and you'll see that it makes nooo difference whatsoever
