In the old days these type of folks had to do the hard
buisness of going out in public to where a band was playing, get
tanked up on booze, etc, and practice the art of
heckling. Of course said heckler's always ran the risk of
getting their butt kicked by fans or friends of the band and
in the case of many proud southern rock bands of the past,
the drummer would solo while the rest of the band did the
honors of kicking said backside of the heckler in question.
Heckling still goes on as there are always risk taking morons
in any generation. With the internet the sport is much safer
for those who love the fun of criticizing others who actually
do something in life to the amazement of others. The internet
flamer of today is really the hit and run heckler of the past.
The net has made it safe for both the clueless and the cruel
to engage in the sport of ' dissing' and pissing off the victims.
Fortunately most of these types aren't clever or original
enough to actually become professional critics down the road
as the pros at least hang their name in public.
