"Perfect" records?

Moody Blues - I Know You`re Out There Somewhere - YouTube

Really great bass line also.... I need to tab this and get it perfect. Enjoy :)

Moody Blues. Need I say more?

Yeah.... yeah.....yeah.... yeah....!

Edit: I am sure everyone knows this was a record way before it was a track :) I remember in high school buying their first album I found and listening to it for hours on end....

Ok, going to add one more. The genuis of Jethro Tull group was truly amazing. If you don't have six minutes, ten seconds, just skip to about 3:00 and enjoy.... Sweet Jesus these guys were great....

Bruce Hornsby - Night On The Town.

Francesca Gagnon - Au Dela Des Couleurs.

Cirque Du Soleil - Ka

Yanni - Acropolis

Nightwish - Dark Passion Play (by FAR their best in terms of production, engineering, and composition)

Rush - Power Windows, Moving Pictures

Blue Oyster Cult - Spectres, Fire Of Unknown Origin

Frank Zappa - Lumpy Gravy

Goo Goo Dolls - Superstar Car Wash

Pat Metheny Group - first album

Starship - No Protection

Steely Dan - Aja

How's that for a crazy mix of genres?

Here's something you guys don't know about Killer Queen...on one of the guitar overdubs, Brian May farts. So much for perfection.

Even if he did - I'm sure it was through a Vox AC 30 and still sounded like Brian May

the 2 complete records that come to mind in terms of writing to production as almost perfect for me are

"Spilt Milk" - Jellyfish Jellyfish - Glutton of Sympathy - YouTube and "Ah Via Musicom" - Eric Johnson Eric Johnson - Ah Via Musicom - Forty Mile Town - YouTube

oh and of course Side 2 of Abbey Road is absolute perfection

Some very honorable mentions
Odyssey and Oracle - The Zombies Care Of Cell 44 - The Zombies - YouTube
Walk Away Renée/Pretty Ballerina - The Left Banke THE LEFT BANKE- " PRETTY BALLERINA" (W/ LYRICS) - YouTube
The Flat Earth - Thomas Dolby Thomas Dolby - Screen Kiss - YouTube

I'm with pretty much everything mentioned here, just two chill-out tracks I personally think couldn't be improved upon would be Ryuichi Sakamoto - Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence:

Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence -Original Version - YouTube

Goldfrapp - Utopia, (based upon Aldous Huxley's - Brave New World):

Goldfrapp - Utopia - YouTube

Lot's of others, a few of many albums: The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead, David Bowie's - Aladdin Sane and The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

These are records that I truly love, for all kinds of different reasons. To me, these albums are perfect.. I'm sure this list could be longer

Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
The La's - The La's
Brown Album - The Band
Franks Wild Years - Tom Waits
Gaucho - Steely Dan
Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
Hunky Dory - David Bowie
Off The Wall - Michael Jackson
Innervisions - Stevie Wonder

Lots of good ones here.
Another one I would consider "perfect" is Deep Purple's "Machine Head".
It's quite amazing this album was even made.
They had gone to Montreux to record the record in the casino there. Well, if you're familiar with the lyrics to Smoke On The Water, the venue was burned down during a Zappa show the day before they were set to move in. They looked all around town for a suitable place to record and found none. They had to settle on the closed up for the winter Grand Hotel. Recording the songs in the cold corridors was not the most comfy of situations. With the Rolling Stones Mobile unit outside, they had to brave the elements to go listen to playbacks. The record still sounds fresh to this day and is considered their classic best ever effort. And their biggest seller.

Yes, I have to agree that Machine Head is awesome. I had the 8 track for sure when I was a teen. I think I had the album before that. I have a new cd now of course but I rocked to that So many times!!! It was truly my favorite for months. :)
