Pete Wentz Vs. Victor Wooten

I am sure they can both shred about the same. I will invite both of them to a shredding contest. The contest will consist of shredding sheets of paper in a Fellows paper shredder. Whoever can shred the most sheets in 5 minutes will be declared the winner!!
I heard that Victor Wooten of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones puts on makeup and plays in pop punk bands like Pete Wentz. Is this true? I'm unable to find a solo video on UTube. I believe that he has a signature guyliner endorsed by maybelline is it?? If you have a livejournal link, please attach it. Thanks!

+1 to this, while I do *not* in any way like his playing, or tone, Wooten is as about as cool as a person gets, really nice guy, with a fantastic outlook on things.
I'm relatively new to TB, and to the bass playing community in general, so bear with me.
Can I ask why Pete Wentz is ridiculed so often here? Not a fan but I've heard a few examples of his music and, well, it is what it is. But has he proclaimed to be a great bassist, or is he an egotistical headcase? I've never heard anything of the sort, but just wonder why he is mentioned so often here in a negative way.
I'm not sticking up for the guy because I don't know much about him, but the bottom line is, he gets paid pretty well doing something he loves...playing the bass. I certainly trade jobs with him in a heartbeat!

Good post. You can either like someone or not, and there's no harm done either way.
Not a fan of either, tbh, but obviously wooten could outplay me with a few of his fingers missing, but not keen on his music. Sometimes you can play too much...
Every time I hear this come up, I wonder who these people are thinking of when they listen to Victor Wooten. Listen to the fretless solo on "Big Country", look me in the eyes, and tell me you don't like that. Seriously.
Never read anything bout him or seen interviews but I saw the flectones on tv once and he was like hoggin all the "noise room" and when he soloed he..just... I felt odd watching it.
I understand someone not liking another bassist's style. However, you've certainly crossed the line with the name calling. Especially a man as kind and courteous as Victor.
